Technical Manager

Job Purpose

The Technical Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational and people management of the Technical Department in the Netherlands. This role focuses on leading, developing, and supporting the technical team (2 Technical Support Engineers and 4 Technical Consultants) to ensure efficient service delivery, technical excellence, and customer satisfaction. In addition to managerial duties, the Technical Manager is expected to actively contribute to the daily operational activities of the department, providing hands-on support where required. The Technical Manager works in close collaboration with Sales, Project Management, and other internal stakeholders to align activities with company objectives and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support the Dutch technical team to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in daily operational tasks and provide hands-on support when necessary.
  • Act as the point of coordination and third-level escalation for complex technical issues, ensuring proper resolution in cooperation with subject matter experts.
  • Oversee and optimize processes, documentation, and procedures within the Dutch technical team.
  • Manage the department’s annual budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of Network Innovations’ quality certifications (e.g., ISO standards).
  • Collaborate with Sales and Project Management on technical planning and resource prioritization.
  • Support the onboarding, training, and development of technical staff.
  • Monitor team workload, performance, and development needs.
  • Represent the technical department in internal meetings and when required, with customers and suppliers.

Authorization

  • The Technical Manager is authorized to: - Recruit new technical personnel within the Netherlands. - Purchase resources and training within the approved budget. - Approve travel and expense claims within the allocated budget.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical or operational management, preferably in telecommunications, IT, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong people management and communication skills with a hands-on and collaborative attitude.
  • Solid understanding of technical support processes, service delivery, and customer operations.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively.
  • Commitment to upholding and improving Network Innovations’ quality and service standards.
  • A willingness to embrace and live the core values of Network Innovations.

Working Conditions

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment in Eersel. Standard office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional work outside of regular hours as required. Limited travel to partners, customers, or trade fairs may be necessary.
