Account Manager

Job Purpose

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage an enterprise book of business as the single point of accountability for revenue retention, upsells, cross-sells, and contract renewals.
  • Prospect and qualify new enterprise opportunities, develop new market verticals, and build a healthy, sustainable sales pipeline within the CRM.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and multi-stakeholder renewals to safeguard recurring revenue and exceed sales quotas.
  • Translate technical network capabilities (routing, failover, SD-WAN, hybrid satellite/cellular/fiber links) into strategic ROI for client executive decision-makers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor, conducting regular business reviews and advocating for client needs internally with engineering, operations, and support teams.
  • Brief customers on network upgrades, deliver customer training sessions, monitor relationship health, and process account claims promptly.
  • Provide direct feedback to Product Management regarding customer requirements and market trends to support future solutions.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasting and execute a territory travel plan, including attending trade shows and industry events to meet sales objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) required.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated B2B solution sales or enterprise account management experience in telecommunications or networking infrastructure, with a proven track record of carrying a quota and closing enterprise-scale contracts.
  • Strong working knowledge of core networking fundamentals (routing, SD-WAN, fiber, wireless, cellular, and satellite links) and CRM software, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into customer ROI.
  • Excellent negotiation, deal-structuring, and executive presentation skills, paired with vertical-specific domain knowledge (e.g., maritime, aviation, energy, utilities, or government security) preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle, and the ability to travel 25%–50% within the assigned territory.

Working Conditions

Field and office-based environment supporting clients across the assigned territory. Requires regular local travel (25%–50%) for client meetings, site visits, and industry conferences.

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk while working on a computer or reviewing documents.
  • The ability to use hands to manage and control a keyboard and mouse.
  • The ability to understand and communicate clearly with others through speaking, listening, or writing.
  • The ability to move around the office to attend meetings or retrieve documents.
