Manager of Talent Recruitment and Development

Job purpose

This position manages and coordinates organization-wide efforts to maintain effective programs for attracting candidates, hiring, retention and promotion by way of career paths and performance management. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with the Senior Director of Human Resources to develop new strategies and programs to attract candidates.
  • Prepare compensation analysis, job descriptions and job postings for hiring managers.
  • Complete initial screening of candidates to provide a short list of candidates to the hiring managers.
  • Organize and manages training for hiring managers on interviewing skills.
  • Prepare offer letters for new employees and ensure Payroll Accountants receive the signed letters to process payroll.
  • This position will be responsible for obtaining reference checks, background checks/drug screens as required.
  • Maintain and prepare offer letter templates for various jurisdictions, in conjunction with the Senior Director's direction.
  • Work with the Senior Director to create career paths within NI.  • Lead and administer the organizations' Performance Management Program.
  • Work with Managers and Supervisors to ensure annual Performance reviews are completed and documented.
  • Identify employees that may require a Performance Improvement Plan and refer these to the Director of Onboarding.
  • Work with other departments in NI to organize and manage in-house and external training for all employees, as needed.
  • Projects, as assigned, will also be a key part of this position.

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration and/or a related program is preferred. A candidate who holds or is working towards their CPHR designation would be an asset.
  • A minimum of 3 years of broad human resources experience with expertise in talent management and performance management being a major asset.
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied applicant tracking and HRIS systems. 
  • Experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management programs that cover performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning, data analytics and relationship management.
  • Previous experience in capturing metrics and producing various employment reports.
  • Experience in all areas of sourcing such as the internet, social media, networking, employee referrals, and job postings.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment; handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion and in a timely manner.
  • The ideal candidate will have a high energy level, be self-motivated, results oriented as well as creative, innovative and flexible.
  • Demonstrated excellence in conflict management and the ability to resolve issues, striking a balance between business and personal needs.
  • Solid presentation and facilitation skills with all levels of an organization.

  • Strong computer skills with intermediate to advanced ability in MS Office applications

Working conditions

This position typically operates in a professional office environment. Standard office hours are 8am to 5pm, however, work outside of regular office hours and occasional global travel will be required.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment and software.  Must have valid passport.
