Senior Director of Human Resources
Job purpose
Reporting to the VP Finance, the Senior Director of Human Resources is a collaborative, team focused individual that is known for producing results and who demonstrates a solid understanding of Human Resources and related best practice. This position is a Hands-On position to provide full cycle HR support to our organization while managing a HR team. The Senior Director of Human Resources leads and manages full-cycle recruitment, employee onboarding and retention strategies, performance reviews and compensation and benefit reviews across all our business units. Provides leadership to the executive team and guidance to the organizations HR operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals.
- Ensures the salary and benefit package being offered to our employees continues to be competitive.
- Identification and recommendation of human resources and related policies.
- Ensure compliance with HR laws in all jurisdictions and create/or maintain employee handbooks and company related HR policies.
- Manage the requirements of each jurisdiction to ensure offer letter templates are compliant in the jurisdiction, so that guidance can be provided to the Manager of Talent Recruitment.
- This position will deliver support and guidance for recruitment, performance reviews, training programs, and employee relations.
- This position will take the lead in recruitment for more senior roles within the company.
- Work with The Co-CEO & Group President and the Marketing Team to develop an overall internal communications strategy.
- Projects, as assigned, will also be a key part of this position.
Qualifications
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration and/or a related program is required. A candidate who holds or is working towards their CPHR designation is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive human resources experience within a generalist capacity, with team leadership experience being a major asset.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems.
- A track record of demonstrated excellence in effectively recognizing and creating/modifying human resources practices and policies using the law and best practices related to employment.
- Additionally exemplifies strong project management skills and is able to lead cross functional teams and influencing in all areas and levels within an organization, ultimately building cohesive and effective teams.
- Demonstrates sound judgment; handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion and in a timely manner.
- The ideal candidate will have a high energy level, be self-motivated, results oriented as well as creative, innovative and flexible.
- Demonstrated excellence in conflict management and the ability to resolve issues, striking a balance between business and personal needs.

Working conditions
This position typically operates in a professional office environment. Standard office hours are 8am to 5pm, however, work outside of regular office hours and occasional global travel will be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and software. Must have valid passport.
