VP Network Operations

Job purpose

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to fill the role of Vice President of Network Operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in satellite communications, SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network), aggregation technologies, and project management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction for the network operations department, aligning objectives with organizational goals. Develop and implement plans to optimize network performance and reliability.
  • Satellite Communications Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of satellite communication systems, ensuring efficient and secure data transmission. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance the organization's competitive edge.
  • SD-WAN Mastery: Demonstrate expertise in SD-WAN solutions, overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of SD-WAN networks. Optimize network connectivity, reduce latency, and enhance overall performance.
  • Aggregation Technologies: Lead initiatives related to network aggregation, ensuring efficient data handling and resource utilization. Evaluate and implement technologies that improve network efficiency and scalability.
  • Project Management: Direct and manage network-related projects from initiation to completion. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Implement robust monitoring systems to track network performance and proactively address issues. Continuously optimize network infrastructure to meet evolving business needs.
  • Vendor Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with technology vendors. Negotiate contracts, oversee service level agreements, and ensure vendors meet performance expectations.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure network operations comply with relevant regulations and standards. Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing network operations team. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within network operations.
  • Extensive background in satellite communications, SD-WAN, and aggregation technologies.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends.
  • Ability to make strategic decisions and solve complex problems.
  • A willingness to embrace and live the core values of Network Innovations.

Working conditions

This position will normally have office hours of 8am to 5pm local time, 5 days a week. However, the incumbent must be available 24/7 x 365, within reason, to address issues in the IT environment. The position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and software.

Physical requirements

An ability to travel and on a global basis. A valid passport without restrictions. Sitting and using a computer for extended periods of time.
