Systems Administrator
Job Purpose

This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of workstations, servers, VMs in our physical and cloud datacenters with the goal of ensuring that our technology infrastructure runs efficiently, is regularly backed up, and is highly available. This includes cybersecurity audits, and asset & patch management across all managed systems. The System Administrator also interfaces with external vendors and internal dev teams for Business Systems, and with end users of the infrastructure and Business Systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and secure global physical and virtual workstations and servers (approx. 300), including building, testing, and deploying applications while ensuring security standards are met. This also involves collaborating with business systems teams (ERP, CRM) to configure database, file system, and VM access, and manage user profiles and MFA solutions (Duo).
- Manage and maintain DRaaS infrastructure, perform and test system backups/off-site replication and restores, and utilize change management processes to minimize downtime.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support, including participating in an on-call rotation for after-hours issues. Field, review, and resolve escalated issues, determine root causes of failures, plan mitigation strategies, and schedule outages around global timeframes.
- Proactively monitor security vulnerabilities to protect systems, networks, and data, responding to any threats. Monitor performance metrics and alerts to anticipate and prevent issues.
- Create and present comprehensive documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures for internal use, customers, and ISO compliance. Effectively communicate with end-users regarding incident progress, changes, and outages.

Qualifications
- You'll bring 5+ years of experience as an IT Systems Administrator and a relevant Bachelor's Degree or diploma in Information Technology (or equivalent).
- You're highly proficient with SCCM and Intune/Endpoint Manager, including image deployment, device/software deployment, and managing patch cycles across diverse systems.
- Your strong foundation includes expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, O365, Windows 11, and Windows Server (2016 and above).
- Hands-on experience with VMware, Veeam, HP Nimble, and StoreOnce is essential for managing our virtual environments and ensuring robust data protection.
- You're skilled in scripting with PowerShell and Power CLI, ready to automate tasks and streamline operations.
- Collaborative & Security-Focused: Beyond technical skills, you possess a customer-focused mindset, excellent complex problem-solving abilities, and a security-first approach to all your solutions.
Nice to have
- 7+ years experience as an IT SysAdmin for a Network Services Provider
- Experience working with Linux based operating systems
- Experience with Solarwinds Orion monitoring suite
- Microsoft Azure or AWS experience
- ISO 27001 implementation and compliance experience
- Knowledge of firewalls and switching (Palo Alto)
- Palo Alto Cortex XDR experience
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning

Working Conditions
This position typically operates in a professional office environment. Standard office hours are 8 AM to 5 PM with participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours support. However, the incumbent must be available 24/7 x 365, within reason, to address issues in the IT environment. Occasional travel will be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and software.
